Week 8

Well Morning sickness has come. Battled with nausea most of Saturday before asking Pat to stop at the drug store. It seems to be different than it was with Ally but then its a week earlier and I didn't even wait to "get sick" before I took that wonderful pill. Just remembering the feeling of it was enough lol.

So as of yesterday my only boy name is out the window. I liked the name Jackson but with Micheal Jackson dieing I didn't want anyone thinking he (if it is a he) was named after "the king of Pop". So now I have none. And I don't see any suggestions??? Pat won't even talk to me about names, he said we can decide when we know what he/she is. I on the other hand want to plan!!! I'm neurotic and crazy! I want enough time to decide on a name and have a couple of months to sit on the name and mull it over. That is what I did with Alex and I never once regretted her name.

Oh I have a funny Alex story to share. Grandma Martine had bought her some very beautiful "jewels" aka fake pearl necklace and bracelet. So she had the necklace for about 4 days and broke it one day. I thought that I had gotten all the little pearls that were kicking around but this morning Alex found a "white ball"! I wasn't really sure what she meant but she was very excited about it. So in her clenched fist I found a pearl, she was so emotional about it I just let her have it. She's past the stage of putting things in her mouth and even if she did it was the size of a pea so I wasn't too worried. Well about 2 hours later she came over and was rubbing her nose. I told her not to pick her nose (a disgusting stage she is in). She started to whine and squirm. And out the bottom of her nostril I could see something shiny! So I reached over and pinched the top of her nose. Out came the pearl! I was astounded! The first time mother in me couldn't fathom why she would do such a thing! I know all you 2 or 3 time moms were thinking it the minute I typed that I let her have it, but oh in my "I'm a mom of a 3 year old" confident brain it NEVER once occurred to me.

So here I am on my journey to becoming a Mommy of 2, and I learn that those little buggers are sneaky and no matter how old they are they will teach you a thing or two about mother and fatherhood!

Have a safe and happy July 1st!

Week 7

Went to the doctors yesterday, didn't even have to threaten Dr. Keller to get a diclectin prescription, man I love that guy! I was also nervous because there have been rumors that some of the central Alberta hospitals might be closed. But he reassured me that Lacombe was in no danger of being closed, so that put me at ease. Had some twinges of nausea yesterday, again some this morning. Really hoping I don't have to fill that precription but I am fully prepared to do so if I get sick just once ;)

Alexandria enjoyed going to see Dr. Keller yesterday, she had fallen earlier that morning and hit her cheek and before she could really express her pain she remember "oh I see the Doctor today!" "he fix my owie!" That was at 8:30am and even though I reassured her all day her cheek was fine (please note there was no redness, bruising or any contusions), she was still determinded to have him look at it. So we got to see him at 2:00pm and just as he was leaving she said "Dr. Keller I have owie" she pointed frantically to her cheek (which she had been doing all day). Been the great guy he is, he leaned down looked very closely at it, brushed it gently with his hand and pronounced it fixed! Well Alex was very impressed "You're good!" He was obviously amused by it, who wouldn't be! As we left the room Alex ran down the hall beside me and called out behind her "Bye-bye Mr. Keller!" Well that had the whole office laughing!

I'm counting the weeks until we can find out what this little creature is. Yes we are going to find out the sex before he/she is born. We are planners, especially me, and I have to know whats going on. And besides it will be a surprise even when I'm 20 weeks along ;) But there still is the heated battle of who's side thie baby will join. Both Pat and Bruce (our furry son) are cheering for a boy, Alex is still on the fence jumping one way then the other as the hours change it seems, and then there is me, well I'd be happy either way, but I thinks it much more practical to have a girl. EVERYTHING we have is pink (so much for me hating it when I was pregnant with Ally) and she has such beautiful clothing! I also have the most perfect "girl" name, I just have to convince Pat lol. And then there is the "boy" name, I've poured over baby name web sites and countless books and only have 1 name that I "like".

So if anyone has any suggestions. Here is the criteria; prefer it not to end in an N, unless it doesn't sound totally weird with Calon, can't start with a C or K, and has to be unique but not weird. See its a hard one lol.

Well off to work, find me a name;)

lots of love!

Week 5

Even though no one will be reading this quite yet, I'm a little compulsive so I thought I'd get an early start :)
Yes I am pregnant, just barely, but that doesn't matter it is still a very happy occassion. I know the general rule is to wait until you are past your 1st trimester to tell everyone the news, but as many of you already know both Pat and I are horrible at keeping secrets!

I thought to keep this blog because both of my cousins had the brilliant idea before me (thanks Kayt and Kandis). We are too far away from lots family who won't be able to enjoy this pregnancy firsthand, and thought this is a great way to share this production ;)

So I'm just barely pregnant, already memories of the previous one are flooding back! Oh yes I remember having to pee every 10 minutes! Ah yes there is the ever present nagging hunger. I am very nervous about the possibility of morning sickness. Trying to keep positive and remind myself "every pregnancy is different". I am planning on threatening my doctor for a prescription for diclectin, just in case, of course!

Alexandria is very excited about having a new baby! She is convinced its a boy, but that may be due to the fact our best friends Colin and Lisa just had a little boy, Kaden, who Ally is in LOVE with. She was dancing around the living room yesterday, rocking her arms. When I asked her what she was doing she replied "rocking my new baby!"
"what baby?" I asked.
"This baby!" she squeaked as she ran, gave me a hug and patted my stomach! It made my heart melt!

I hope you all enjoy reading about our families journey to becoming a family of four! All our love, hugs and kisses!
