Week 15

If you have tried to comment on my previous postings and couldn't, I'm sorry and I think I've fixed it. If not, let me know on e-mail or facebook.

Alexandria and I had a wonderful time at Keli's shower on Sunday. It was a beautiful day, filled with great food and fun games. I finally met Kailie and Asia, what beautiful little girls they are. Alex was very excited to meet them as well. The whole morning and drive before the party all she said was "I'm going to meet my cousins now?" "Yes!" I would reply repeatedly, "do you remember their names?"
She would think very hard, then look at me "I need help!" So I would start off the names, first letters only, "K..."
"Kailie!" Alex would shout!
"and A.."
"Asia! Yes that's their names Mommy. Those are my cousins. They are babies and I love them!"

Well she certainly did! She tried to teach Asia what sound different animals make, but poor Asia could speak because Alex was shoving said animals in her mouth. In her defence, Asia did have her mouth open expectantly. Alex also got to hit a pinata and play lots of games with the other children. She is still raving about "What time is it Mr. Wolf?"

As for the bambino, well still making my life difficult. I can't honestly say if the "morning" sickness is getting better or I'm just learning to deal. I've lost 6 pounds total so far, so I'm trying very hard to gain those and more back. Some might say I'm a little crazy but I really don't want to get a lecture from Dr. Keller. He is such a wonderful doctor so I feel like a 3 year old when he looks at me and says "now Danielle I know its hard but you really have to try to eat more." And I just know he's disappointed! LOL

We are all getting very excited for Alexandria's party! Hope to see you all very soon!

Week 13

Had our first pre-natal appointment today. Everything went very well, Dr Keller said no triplets and probably no twins! Thank the dear lord for that one! Have to confirm with ultrasound, which is booked for September 21st, but I'm betting on Dr Keller! Baby Calon's heartbeat is 152 bpm. And Dr Keller confirmed what I told Mom about fetal heart rates. The old wives tale is that lower than 140 bpm indicates a boy and over 140 indicates a girl. And that is all it is, an old wives tale. But if its not, that means GIRL!!! Yay for me!!

And of course with the wonderful Doppler comes with the blood tests :( I hate needles!! Even after giving birth I still hate them, someone once told me they wouldn't be such a big deal after labour. They were wrong! But oh well I'll get through them. Since we were on our way to Edmonton I'll be going to the lab tomorrow.

Matt and Zac were trying to help us with boy names today, but after getting every normal suggestion shot down they resorted to shouting out random words they saw on signs. They were very entertaining, but alas no good ideas.

We had a wonderful visit with Zac who we had to take back to the airport today. Both Zac and Matt are so wonderful with Alex. They spent tonnes of time with Alex reading and playing at the park. Bruce also loved having them here, he had lots more people to play ball with! Linda, Robyn and Connor came down on Saturday and we had a wonderful picnic at Discovery Canyon. And after a great lunch we played in the water and sand. Both Alex and Connor were very happy and very tired after the outing. I think the Matt and Zac got just as much sand in their swimming trunks as the kids did.

Alexandria was in a weird mood this weekend. She spent most of the time pretending she was a baby. She would crawl around on all fours, want to be rocked, and wrapped up in a blanket. The really funny this was she wouldn't talk. She made lots of baby sounds, nodded yes and shook no, but would not say a single thing. We all took turns playing the baby game. Most of the time we were laughing when she was laying on the floor all fours in the air fake crying!

As for my wonderful morning sickness, it is still all day long and isn't getting any better. I'll have a couple good days followed by some really bad days. So Dr Keller upped my dosage of diclectin per day. He said that should work. So much for morning sickness ending at 12 weeks. ;)

We have a busy August ahead of us, topped off with the princesses birthday. Should be a wonderful month. Lots of love, hugs and Kisses.
