Easter/Mom's surprise party

We hosted Easter with Pats family this year and were so excited that everyone was coming over.  I knew that since we were so close to May this year that Linda, Robyn, Nolan, Connor & Charlie would probably bring my birthday cards/presents early.  Especially since we wouldn't see them before my actual birthday.  What I didn't know was Alex had other plans.  Apparently one night, while I was in the bath, she asked to speak to Grama Linda on the phone (this is how to conversation went)

"Hi Grama, remember my bank account?"
"Yes Dear, I do, we have a debit card for it now!"  Said Linda (every time that Linda takes her bottles in she puts the money in a bank account for all 4 of her grandbabies)
"Well Grama, I want to give Mommy a surpirse birthday!  With a cake, and balloons, and plates and candles!"
"Well that sounds very nice!  We will do that!"
"Ok, but remember it is a surprise!"  Alex was apparently very excited!

Well this was almost a month before Easter and that sweet little angel kept the secret.  I had no idea what was going on.  And I was a little chocked up when I found out how sweet my little girl is.  So we had cake, and balloons, oh and a great pinyata!

Joe's first hair cut

It was a long time coming and I really delayed it as long as I could, but poor Joe was starting to look like a girl. His hair has been red since birth and I noticed around February that his hair was growing in blond but I wasn't ready to give up my little carrot top.

it was a lot of hair lol

Yeah for Auntie Dessy!

Was really good for the first half of the cut but things went down hill fast!  Mommy had to hold him for the last part ;)

Beautiful boy

Not a carrot top anymore, but strawberry blond

Las Vegas

OK, it has been a while!!  Like I said in my last post, I've been finding it harder and harder to find time to, well find time.  But I'm going to try and get all caught up here tonight.

Pat and I had a GREAT time is Las Vegas.  I was beyond excited while we were driving to the airport.  Very excited when we boarded the plane...  Not so hot while we taxied for take-off.  Remembered my fear of flying at that moment!  Spent almost the entire flight to Vancouver fanning myself and breathing very deeply.  Durning landing though I was fine.  It must have been the knowledge that I was back on solid ground.  The flight to Las Vegas went much smoother and I was like a kid in the candy store as we got closer and closer.  The woman sitting next to us was having a great time laughing at me.  Apparently I was VERY excited lol.

Boy it was HOT in Nevada.  30+ when we landed.  And it was 8:30 at night.  We got to our hotel and went to the strip almost immediately.  That was an experience in itself!  I was really intimidated by all the people and really didn't like the peddlers that were trying to give people those "bad" cards.  But I was amazed by the size of everything and by all the lights.

We spent Friday doing some shopping, driving down the strip, and visiting the Hoover Dam.  Wow that place is awesome!  Both Pat and I were in awe of everything.  It was really neat to see a wonder of the modern world.

yes that's right, I got Pat in not only shorts, but sandals too!

signed by all the champs!  Really wish we had $3400 ;P

Red Rock Canyon- really neat place to see

my lion buddy- he was VERY hot lol

So needless to say we had a good time.  Our only complaint was driving down there.  They drive too fast, with crappy signage and none of the maps we had were complete or correct LOL.
I was having such a great time on Friday that I forgot several times that it was my 30th birthday.  Which I have to say is a great way to spend your 30th birthday.

We really really missed the kids and were very happy to see them when we got home.  And of course we spoiled them rotten, the shopping was one of my favourite part lol.

Ok on to the next post ;)
