29 Weeks (11 to go)

Well we are busy getting ready for the Christmas season. Our house is decorated inside and out, we have a good handle on the present buying, I had hoped to be done by now though, and Alex is talking non-stop about Santa, presents and cookies. We have been really busy this past week getting ready for a Christmas party we are hosting for a group of our close friends. It is this Saturday and we're getting very excited! There will only be 10 adults and 4 kids but for our little house that is more than enough.

I'm even making a turkey! This will be the second turkey I've made in my entire 28.5 years and I'm crossing my fingers for the same results as the first one. I am also making a broccoli & cheese casserole that my Grandma Mary made every time the whole family got together. I've never made it before so I'm prepared for it to go either way. And the really wonderful thing is... that is all I'm making!! Everyone is bringing something so it really lightens the load! Oh and I almost forgot the other great thing! We are going to be using our fancy china & silverware! It has only been used once in the five years we've had it so I'm very excited to set my table like a grown up. That is my plan anyways, Lisa did point out to me that they make very very nice paper plates, so I'll make my final decision tomorrow night and if I'm feeling tired and stressed well the china will take a back seat until Easter lol.

I went for my monthly prenatal this morning and was very please to have gained 3 pounds!!!! If only I could be this excited about gaining weight when I wasn't pregnant ;) Everything is good and right on track. Joseph is still head up and doing somersaults like crazy. But there is lots of time for him to turn. My tummy measurements are right on track as well. 29 cm for 29 weeks. We got to talking about how much bigger I am than when I was pregnant with Alex and Dr. Keller pulled up my prenatal chart from Alexandria. At 33 weeks I was measuring 27 cm and at 38 weeks I was at 33 cm. So I'm about 6 weeks ahead of my last pregnancy. Made me giggle to think about it. The nice thing is I probably won't have to go in for an ultrasound at 38 weeks to make sure everything is okay. I remember being horribly pregnant and laying on that bed, with a very full bladder may I point out! I was laying there suffering for 30 minutes until I told them "I have kidney & bladder problems and if you don't let me pee right now... I'll pee right now!" They were laughing at me, I was not!

But the measurement made me pause and think about how big I really am. Or rather, how big Joseph just might be!!! So that made me a little anxious and nervous. Alex was average size and almost every time, the second baby is bigger than the first!! Oh gosh I have to stop thinking about it lol.

Another good thing, Pat is going to be starting on Joseph's room in a week or so. Eric came over and reassured us its wasn't that big of a deal and we wouldn't have to take down as much drywall as we had first anticipated! So Eric figures it will take a day to do everything and he's going to help Pat do it too! We have such wonderful friends! Eric and his wife Amanda were also here last year helping us build our entire garage. I also have 3 walls primed and ready to paint, which I will probably do on Sunday. So by Christmas our little guys room should be all but done! I'm very excited to get to the point where we can wash and put Joseph's clothes in his closet and dresser. Alex is getting excited about it too. She is planning on putting everything away! No help is required from either Mom or Dad apparently. "I'll do it all. You and Dad can sit down" is what she tells me whenever we talk about anything to do with Joseph. She fully plans to do all the feeding, rocking, changing, bathing, playing, burping. And she doesn't hesitate to tell everyone her plans. It is so cute and reassuring. I worry about how she will take her new role, as the oldest. And I know there will be an adjustment period, but I hope all the positive attitude will keep the transition to a minimum!

Hopefully next week there will be some before and after pictures of Joseph's room. Hope everyone enjoys the last weekend in November!

Lots of Love
